A short loop with several changes of scenery

Starting near the pharmacy in Vernonnet, this little loop heads towards the entrance to Giverny, then returns on the greenway and partly along the Seine, passing the Old Mill and the Château des Tourelles.

Start near the pharmacy in Vernonnet, with the hillside behind you, and head towards Giverny. The point of this loop is not to reach Monet’s gardens, but to stay on the quieter side of the meadows and the Seine.

At the entrance to Giverny, you reach the junction where you can either continue into the village or turn back towards Vernonnet on the greenway. For this loop, take the greenway, which runs partly beside the Seine between trees, open fields and the limestone hills.

After passing beneath Vernon bridge, the Old Mill comes into view. Continue for roughly 200 metres, cross the road carefully and take the small path towards the Château des Tourelles before returning to the pharmacy.

Route

Route and access

Start by the pharmacy in Vernonnet and head towards Giverny. At the junction, turn right to take the greenway back towards Vernonnet, partly along the Seine; go straight on to continue into Giverny. For this loop, turn right. Pass beneath Vernon bridge, continue past the Old Mill for about 200 metres, cross the road carefully and take the small path towards the Château des Tourelles, then back to the pharmacy.
